About the Role:
Carrier is looking for an experienced Product Manager, Hardware
professional to oversee research and analytics to support and
contribute to the development of marketing strategies. Responsible
for prioritizing projects and identifying opportunities of
improvement to enhance Product Management performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive product strategy and roadmap for the ALC HW portfolio -
mid-tier line of controllers.
- Drive strategy, product requirements, value proposition, and
pricing for the new strategy
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams globally (sales,
marketing, engineering)
- Develops production and marketing strategies and tactics to
ensure effective product and service placement relative to market
opportunity, working closely with product and service development
for a specific product or service, brand, or product/service area
over its entire life cycle.
- Formulates and reviews corporate short and long-range plans,
goals, and objectives for specific product/service or
product/service line.
- Collects and analyzes macroeconomics, industry, and target
market information to forecast market size.
- Determines the business case, profitability and viability of
new products/services or product/service enhancements.
- Confers with legal staff to resolve problems, such as copyright
infringement or royalty sharing with outside producers or
distributors.
- Oversees and directs competitive product/service analysis and
market research of product/service consumer behavior and
professional audience.
- Responsible for controlling the evolution of sales of one or
more products/brands of the company.
- Coordinates promotions and advertising efforts of
products/services or brands under his/her responsibility.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 + years of experience in product management and/or building
automation industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including
public speaking.
- Experience with Building automation and/or Carrier and/or
Automated Logic building management system
- Experience estimating and designing control systems. - does
this need to go into required?
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical problem-solving and critical
thinking skills.
- Ability to develop constructive and collaborative working
relationships across functional teams.
- Up to date on new technologies and ability to apply new
knowledge and techniques to the job.
- Use and familiarity with MS Office - Outlook (power user),
Excel (power user), PowerPoint (power user), Word, Visio,
Photoshop, Salesforce.com platform.
- Camtasia or other video recording/editing software
experience.
- Ability to handle several tasks at a time and deliver
consistently.
- Capable of working independently and comfortable making
decisions
- Substantial knowledge of Carrier organization, programs, or
systems to make enhancements within job area.
