The Montclair is an Assisted Living Home in Decatur, Ga, part of the Clairmont Place Community. We are tucked away on 16+ acres of land with a private lake and walking paths, in a park-like setting. We are conveniently located off Clairmont Rd, near Emory and the VA Hospital. The Montclair is owned by the Clairmont Place Community members and run under the direction of a board of resident representatives.The Montclair offers a continued, higher level of support for our elders who are no longer able to live independently. Our focus and goal is person-centered care with a high level of engagement and a low resident to caregiver ratio, allowing our caregivers to focus and individualize their attention on elders and their care plans. Montclair's team of care partners is trained in Eden Alternative Principles as well as licensed CMA's - we help residents perform tasks safely, prioritizing autonomy, engagement and independence. We care for the human spirit as well as the body. This creates beautiful, supportive, and lasting relationships between care partners and residents.The right person for this role will have the ability to focus individual care without sacrificing their vision for task completion for the day, the ability to work with a team to accomplish goals, the ability to communicate with care, consideration and professionalism with both elders, teammates and family members, and the ability to serve as a true partner in caregiving for our residents. You must have experience working with elders and heart for serving this population.All caregivers must possess a current CMA license. Clairmont Place requires new hires to be vaccinated against Covid - we serve a vulnerable population. New hires must be able to pass a drug and background screen, a physical and have a negative TB test. You must have a current CPR/1st Aid certification.This is a full time hourly position. The current schedule is a 12 hour shift, 6a - 6p and 6p - 6a, rotating 4 days/3 days per week. Ability to adhere to shift rotation and work every other weekend is a necessity. Pay starts at $18.75/hour with guaranteed overtime. RequirementsCaregiver duties and responsibilities include:Administering physician ordered medication to resident's and maintaining related medical records under the supervision of the Clinical DirectorResponsible for maintaining of electronic medical records, assuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulations, certification standards, legal and ethical standardsVerifying identity of residents receiving medication and record name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on electronic MARReceiving supply of ordered medications and assembling drugs for administration to residentMay record and restock medication inventoryParticipating in an annual proxy caregiver skills competency check which meets the requirements contained in the standardized clinical skills competency checklist used to certify proxy caregivers.Following state proxy caregiver protocols for the community to maintain complianceMonitors and records temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure, as directed by the Clinical director.Reporting changes in the residents' condition log and med aide communication logChange simple dressings and empty ostomy bags, Colostomy bags and catheter bagsSupports the resident, family, and proxy caregiverProvides bed bath, shower or tub bath as appropriateProvides appropriate care of skin, hair, nails, mouth and feetProvides good body alignment, positioning, and range of motion exercises for non-ambulatory residentsAssists resident in and out of bed and with ambulationAssists resident with use of bedpan, urinal, commode and bathroomAssists with feeding and dressing residentProvides personal care to the resident in a compassionate and understanding manner consistent with the Eden philosophyMaintains the dignity of the residentProvides person-centered care to improve the quality of lifeConsults and collaborates with the management team and others involved in the resident's careAssists residents during activity programs and mealtimesFocuses on solving conflict and not blamingListens to others without interrupting and keeps emotions under controlRemains open to others' ideas and tries new thingsQualificationsCurrent CMA licenseHigh school diploma or GEDMust be willing to complete medication aide proxy caregiver training for residents in our community.
