Compensation Grade:09OUR VISION FOR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION:FHLBank Atlanta contributes to our members' success through a diverse, inclusive, and engaged culture that enables all individuals to work together to fulfill our purpose.BASIC PURPOSE:Assists in the management of the Bank's Collateral Documentation area, including the preparation of all member borrowing agreements and other documentation and the filing and maintaining of all Uniform Commercial Code financing statements and lien searches for all borrowing members and related affiliates. Additionally, assists in the negotiating, reviewing, and processing of intercreditor agreements and/or releases with other creditors as necessary.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in the management of preparing, assembling, processing, and reviewing of member borrowing agreements and other related documentation to ensure that the documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Ensures that affiliates pledging collateral are identified, appropriate agreements are properly executed, and timely updates are received showing the specific affiliate collateral items pledged.
  • Assists with the filing and maintaining of Uniform Commercial Code financing statements for all borrowing members and applicable affiliates.
  • Reviews intercreditor agreements and/or releases as necessary.
  • Assists with the control, inventory, and imaging of member borrowing agreements and related documentation.
  • Interacts with the Legal department, member institutions, vendors, and members' creditors, such as the Federal Reserve Banks and corporate credit unions, regarding collateral relationships, lien subordinations, security instruments, and other legal documentation related to credit and collateral.
  • Assists with assessing and managing risks associated with collateral management required by regulation and Bank policies.
  • Maintains an inventory of controls related to collateral risk management.
  • Interacts with the ERM department on risks associated with collateral management.
  • In conjunction with management, responds to auditor and examiner requests, as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), as it applies to secured transactions.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, analyze, and draw logical conclusions.
    • Ability to assess and act on issues and situations quickly.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management at an organization (including shareholder organizations).
    • Self-starter, organized, versatile, and capable of performing work with minimal supervision/management oversight.
    • Attention to detail and strong sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple, competing priorities.
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Exhibits a growth mindset.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA bachelor's degree and five years of experience in a legal, real estate, or banking/lending environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Paralegal or prior documentation supervision experience is preferred.WORK LOCATION: Onsite with an opportunity to work remote partially.
