programs and services that focus on GSU's strategic goals around

the people with whom our students will engage in their careers and

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Assistant Director supports and represents the Director as
requested and provides leadership and administrative guidance for
the departmental functions assigned by the Director, which can
include assisting with specific program and service budgets and
personnel matters, along with oversight for select programs,
services, physical and fiscal resources, data management, and
contributing to the assessment of the effectiveness of the
department's programs and services.
The Assistant Director is assigned a specific portfolio of programs
and services based on their areas of expertise and oversee all
related activities of those assigned functions. This can include
direct oversight for any grants and scholarships specifically
related to their assigned programs and services.
The Assistant Director directly supervises at least one Coordinator
and support the Coordinator in their supervision of graduate
assistants and/or student assistants.
Serves on committees, task forces, work groups and special
initiatives as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned by the
Director of Cultures, Communities & Inclusion.
* The Assistant Director may have responsibilities that include,
but are not limited to, coordinating events, program assessments,
marketing, and delivering workshops that center identity
development and community building for all students. In addition,
the assistant director will collaborate with campus and community
partners to facilitate community building, raise awareness, enhance
ally skill development, and advance inclusion and belonging at
GSU.

Qualifications: Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Master's degree and two years of related experience; or a
combination of education and related experience
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling
or related degree
* The ability to work with, advise, and support the success of
culturally, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse students from
diverse disciplines.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret salient data and
the ability to communicate this knowledge to the university
community and the public.
Experience with the allocation and management of Student Activity
Fees.
* Experience with grant writing, and the allocation of grant funds
and reporting of grant funding.
* Outstanding leadership, management, interpersonal, and project
planning skills to relate and work with a variety of faculty,
students, parents, staff, and community members.
* Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and
activities, make effective use of resources, and meet deadlines
with minimal supervision required.
