suffering.SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Senior Associate
Director (S.A.D.), River Blindness (RB), Lymphatic Filariasis (LF),
Schistosomiasis (SCH) and Malaria (ML) Programs, the Associate
Director will support the RB/LF/SCH/ML programs, including the
design, implementation, and evaluation of program activities.
- Tasks include project management, country office visits, grant
writing and reporting, program report writing, publication
preparation, budget planning, presentation of results in meetings
and conferences, participation in committees, and liaising with
internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Incumbents may supervise staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Due to the travel locations, Hostile Environment Awareness
Training (HEAT) will be required.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs program planning, development, and operations, acting
as liaison between country offices and headquarters for technical,
logistical, and financial support.
- Helps set goals and milestones, supports performance monitoring
through regular contact and visits, and manages budgets,
expenditures, and annual reports.
- Works with the Development office on grant proposals, monitors
grant use, and prepares donor reports.
- Reviews monthly reports from country programs and maintains key
data indices in consultation with the program Epidemiologist.
- Ensures compliance with relevant laws, drafts terms of
reference (TORs) for contractors, monitors their progress, and
coordinates travel logistics.
- Represents the program at national and international events,
leads communication efforts, drafts reports, and contributes to
scientific publications.
- Engages with other NGOs for research and new initiatives.
- May supervise program staff.
- Performs other duties as needed.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as
indicated and six years program related experience, or equivalent
combination of experience, education, and training.PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluency in French, Spanish or Portuguese.
- Post-graduate degree in public health or related studies, five
years of experience in global health, neglected tropical diseases,
malaria or program management.NOTE: This role will be granted the
opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute
to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule based upon
business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines. All
non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia. The
Carter Center reserves the right to change remote work status with
