DescriptionTitle: Chief of SchoolsPosition Description:The Chief
of Schools will be responsible for the overall academic performance
and leadership of all three schools within the network. This
includes direct supervision of school principals, oversight of the
academic team, and the development and implementation of a
network-wide academic strategy that aligns with the organization's
mission and strategic plan. The ideal candidate will be a proven
leader with a demonstrated track record of success in school
turnaround and urban education.Reports to: Executive
DirectorSupervises: Principals and Academic TeamPERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Academic Vision & Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive academic vision and
strategic plan for the network, focused on achieving ambitious
student achievement goals and establishing a distinctive academic
brand
- Provide strategic academic leadership and direction for the
network
- Assist chiefs, directors, and principals in root cause
analyses, develop theories of action, and build coherent multi-year
strategies
- Manage and support the implementation of strategic plan
initiatives related to the operation of the schoolsLeadership,
Coaching & Support
- Principal Management:
- Directly supervise, coach, and evaluate school principals,
providing them with the support and resources needed to lead
effectively
- Develop principal coaching plans and provide frequent,
actionable feedback to leadership teams
- Focus on school leaders and their teams by establishing
instructional leadership expectations and setting measurable
goals
- Support the selection and evaluation processes for campus
administrators and assist with training for principals and
instructional staff
- Academic Team Management:
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and professional development
to the academic team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing
culture
- Define roles and responsibilities within the academic team,
ensuring alignment with network goals and priorities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of academic team initiatives and
make adjustments as needed
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the
academic team and school principalsCurriculum, Instruction &
Program Development
- Instructional Oversight:
- Spearhead the implementation, and evaluation of a high-quality,
standards-aligned curriculum and instructional practices across the
network
- Ensure effective data-driven instruction and differentiated
learning approaches
- Oversee the design and implementation of all school-based
programming (e.g., signature programming such as STEAM
certification, Entrepreneurship, Art, Leadership)
- Lead the academic team to ensure curriculum, assessments, and
instructional practices are implemented with fidelity and that
monitoring systems are in place to assess instructional
practicesProfessional Development & Continuous Improvement
- Capacity Building:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive
professional development program for teachers and school leaders,
emphasizing continuous improvement and best practices
- Monitor school improvement through a cycle of continuous
improvement and sound management practices
- Ensure school improvement plans are aligned with the needs of
the schools by addressing issues, problems, and concerns at the
school sitesData Analysis, Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Monitor and analyze student achievement data, identify areas
for improvement, and implement strategies to accelerate student
growth and close achievement gaps
- Utilize data to inform decision-making, track progress toward
network goals, and prepare reports on key performance metrics for
the Executive Director and Board
- Select and evaluate systems using established metrics to ensure
their effectivenessAccountability, Compliance & Policy
Implementation
- Standards & Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local
regulations and reporting requirements.
- Hold schools accountable for achieving performance goals.
- Adhere to Board policies, communicate the associated
guidelines, and oversee their implementation.Budget & Operational
Management
- Resource Allocation:
- Collaborate with the CFO and Executive Director to develop and
manage the academic budget, ensuring resources are allocated
effectively to support student learning
- Monitor school budgets and provide guidance to staff on
managing resources to meet The Kindezi Network's goalsStakeholder
Engagement & Academic Brand Building
- External Relations & Communication:
- Build strong relationships with families, community partners,
and other stakeholders to support the network's mission and
goals
- Interface with the community to provide needed information and
promote the schools' educational initiatives
- Develop and execute strategies to build a strong and
recognizable academic brand, showcasing student success stories,
innovative programs, and effective teaching practices
- Collaborate with chiefs, directors, and principals to develop
communication systems that ensure a smooth flow of information
across all levels
- Serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors
Academic Committee
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

underserved communitiesRequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Education or a related field; Specialist or
Doctorate preferred.REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must have or be able to obtain a GaPSC-issued clearance
certificate
- Active Level 5 teacher certification issued by the Georgia
Professional Standards Commission highly preferred, or have
reciprocity eligibility
- Must have or be able to obtain Certification in Educational
Leadership by Georgia Professional Standards CommissionWORK
EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of experience in education
- 5+ years of experience as a school principal with K-8
leadership, preferably in an urban environment
- Multiple school site experience is a plus
- Experience working with charter schools

for Chiefs (years of experience and certification level)
