Summary*The family physician has a vital role in providing medical
assessment and treatment for eating disorder patients at our
recovery centers. The family physician acts as a member of a
multi-disciplinary treatment team providing treatment of eating
disorders and related or comorbid medical conditions. Our
environment is gender-inclusive, and we serve clients of all ages
across multiple levels of care. The family physician also serves as
a resource to the medical and behavioral treatment teams to help
guide best-practice medical care.*Location** Atlanta Treatment
Center (41 Perimeter Center E, Dunwoody GA)* Levels of care:
Inpatient, Residential, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive
Outpatient* Patient Population: All AgesTake a virtual tour of our
facility!*Schedule** Monday through Friday (8:00 am-5:00 pm)*
0.8-1.0 FTE option* On call rotation, as assigned.*How Family
Physicians Empower Recovery** Provide direct medical services
through comprehensive evaluations, accurate diagnosis, and tailored
treatment plans, including necessary examinations, workups,
medication prescriptions, and other appropriate interventions.
Evaluate medical complications associated with eating disorders,
along with co-occurring conditions, for patients across various
levels of care within the facility. The frequency of patient visits
should be guided by clinical necessity, ensuring appropriate
oversight based on the severity of the condition and in alignment
with site or regional medical leadership. Additionally, oversee and
supervise ancillary medical providers, such as Family and Pediatric
Nurse Practitioners.* Communicate with each patients ambulatory
providers and families as needed, ensuring continuity of care.
Evaluationseither by phone or in personshould be conducted for all
inpatient and residential patients on the caseload within two weeks
of discharge. Oversee assessments performed by ancillary providers
to determine stability for the next level of care, finalize
follow-up recommendations, and complete a comprehensive discharge
summary.* Collaborate with the Utilization Review team to provide
medical information to support the facilitation of peer-to-peer
insurance reviews, determination of appropriate levels of care,
arbitration of clinical appeals, etc.* Participate in call
schedule* Perform other duties as assigned or identified
*Qualifications** Completion of an accredited residency program in
Family Practice and two or more years of previous independent
practice, with an emphasis in family medicine, complex medical
conditions, psychiatric or eating disorder treatment settings.*
Must be currently licensed as an MD or DO in the state of
employment (GA). Must be BC/BE in Family Medicine and possess a
current unrestricted DEA license.* Previous eating disorders
experience is preferred, but not required*Employee Benefits*We
