Sr Application Engineering Manager - Electrical Infrastructure Position Overview The Sales Application Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure within the organization primarily focused on Electric Vehicle (EV) equipment leading a team of engineers. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all electrical systems, including power distribution, backup systems, and renewable energy sources. In addition, the role involves collaborating with customers and the sales team to select the most optimum solution. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of design-build construction, including 3 phase power, electrical equipment and materials, field knowledge, industrial and commercial facilities, civil and structural principles, code requirements, and utility coordination. For information about ABM's benefits, visit Employee Benefits 2025 Staff & Management Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the electrical infrastructure engineering team, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities. Strategic Planning: Support in implementation of strategic plans for electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Project Oversight: Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure projects, including power distribution systems, EV Infrastructure, and renewable energy installations. Industry Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EV charging hardware, software controls, and industry trends. Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally and proactively with internal and external customers. Sales Support: Provide guidance to the engineering and estimating team on electrical infrastructure, EV hardware and software solutions and development planning. Proposal Development: Assist team in creating, reviewing and managing proposals, obtaining pricing, managing risks, and leading bid reviews. Design Application: Apply expertise in 3-phase and medium voltage distribution, EV charging, switchgear, solar, and battery storage. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure successful project outcomes. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with electrical infrastructure projects, including potential impacts on operations and safety. Compliance: Ensure adherence to NEC, OSHA, ADA, and other relevant codes and guidelines. Networking: Attend industry conferences and training events. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, with job duties subject to modification. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and a strong understanding of NEC, NFPA-70E, SAE, IEEE/ANSI standards. Experience: At least 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, estimating, labor cost and pricing, and electrical service work. With at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing an engineering team. Travel: Willingness to travel 25% of the time. Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and proficiency in electrical design software and project management tools. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, renewable energy technologies, and relevant codes and standards.
