Department Information
Our staff are a part of the Center for Student Engagement at
Georgia Tech. Student Engagement empowers and supports registered
student organizations to catalyze belonging and create an engaging
campus community. Our staff have a strong history of developing and
working closely with Georgia Tech's outstanding student leaders.
The fraternity and sorority community is a campus tradition that
spans over 134 years.
Job Summary
Provide support, advice, and advocacy to a strong and
well-established fraternity and sorority community on matters
related to housing/facilities, leadership development,
crisis/emergency response, conduct, and related issues. Serve on
various fraternity and sorority organization and campus-wide
committees. This position will interact on a regular basis: campus
fraternity and sorority organization leadership, members, alumni,
alumni advisors, facilities management staff, GT real estate, and
student engagement staff. This position typically will advise and
counsel: fraternity & sorority governing councils, honor societies,
organization leadership, and larger community.This position will
supervise: N/A
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Establish and build working relationships with and between
volunteers, alumni, Greek headquarters organizations and campus
community
Job Duty 2 -
Advise one or more of the Greek governing councils (Collegiate
Panhellenic Council, the Interfraternity Council, the Multicultural
Greek Council, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council)
Job Duty 3 -
Manage facilities related services associated with chapters,
including house maintenance, inspections, waste management,
etc.
Job Duty 4 -
Provide advice and support to programs and practices that promote
safe and healthy lifestyles for members of Greek letter
organizations and the larger campus community
Job Duty 5 -
Promote effective Greek chapter leadership through oversight of
multiple components of the Greek Advance program
Job Duty 6 -
Respond to crisis and/or emergencies within the Greek community as
needed
Job Duty 7 -
Report on allegations of infractions of the Code of Conduct
Job Duty 8 -
Act on behalf of the Director upon their absence
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and
experience
Required Experience
Three to four years of job-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Masters Degree, experience with fraternity and sorority
culture.Preferred Experience
10+ years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Greek community organization, living and activities
and related Institute policy and rules.
SKILLS
Skill in program management, communications, customer service and
relationship building.
