collaboration.Job Summary:The Director, Finance will play a
critical role in the budgeting, forecasting, and performance
reporting for a business unit within the company. This position
requires collaborative engagement with executive and business unit
leaders to advance financial performance analysis, reporting
processes and business insights. This position reports to the
Executive Director, Finance.Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned responsibilities of the finance function
related to the allocated business unit, including monthly
reporting, forecasting and budgeting, while working closely with
the Executive Director, Finance to meet overall objectives.
- Collaborate with executive and business unit leaders in
developing metrics and analytical tools for performance management,
business assessment and strategic decision making.
- Oversee financial performance reporting for the business unit,
ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop a deep understanding of business operations and
performance drivers that can then be utilized to advance
performance, information reporting, assessment and
projections.
- Take an active role in projections for the allocated business
unit, including income statement, balance sheet and statement of
cash flows, partnering with executive and business unit leaders to
gather actionable insights.
- Be an active contributor to the review of business performance
with executive and business unit leaders, gathering insights to
assist in Board reporting commentary.
- Partner with the broader finance team in the production of the
financial reporting to the Board.
- Proactively partner with the broader finance team to
continually drive advancements in reporting efficiency and
effectiveness.
- Critically assess performance reporting and develop
recommendations for advancing the analysis of business unit insight
and performance.
- Produce ad hoc reports and analysis to assist in management
review of the business.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in financial accounting, finance, economics,
or other financial related area.
- 7+ years of related work experience to include banking,
accounting, auditing and/or financial reporting.
- Ability to develop effective ongoing partnerships with business
unit leaders.
- Proactive leadership and ownerships of functional
responsibilities.
- Ability to develop short and longer term plans for the
advancement of the finance function.
- Attention to detail and reporting timeframes.
- Experience with NetSuite Planning and Budgeting, SmartView or
similar management reporting system preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Specialized, technical skills to include financial analysis,
data mining and manipulation, and statistical analysis.
- Ability to work within a reporting framework in a deadline
driven environment.
- Effective communication skills with business leaders at
different levels, frequently sharing information with others while
listening to and understanding their points of view.
- Excellent in thinking through and solving problems step by
step, often looking for creative solutions to a problem.Trimont is
