Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity
intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports
for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of
the Atlantic Coast Conference. Steeped in history and success while
embracing strategic innovation, our programs compete at the highest

cherish the many traditions involved with the program.
Job Summary
The Director of Marketing and Fan Experience will assume
responsibility for leading marketing and promotional efforts for
Georgia Tech women's basketball. The position will seek to maximize
positive exposure, generate revenue, and enhance game day
experience for additional assigned sports. This position will
interact on a regular basis: Staff and senior leadership This
position typically will advise and counsel: Coaches, marketing
staff, vendors, students and interns. This position will supervise:
Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience.
Responsibilities
Job Duty One -
Develop and execute marketing and promotional plans for assigned
sports, with a focus of increasing attendance and revenue
generation. Partner with communications, creative and digital
strategy, ticketing, and in-house sports and entertainment partner
on rollout and execution of marketing and promotion plans.
Job Duty Two -
Enhance the in-venue and fan experience for assigned revenue
generating sport
Job Duty Three -
Assist Asst Athletic. Director of Marketing & Fan Experience and
Senior Director of Marketing with marketing and fan experience
efforts for football and men's basketball.
Job Duty Four -
Support marketing and fan experience unit by managing fan
communication (e-mail, campus signage et al.), and student
involvement of promotional sales.
Job Duty Five -
Manage and direct all home event-related logistics, including
managing the events calendar, conducting walk-thru and stadium
visits, and being the primary contact for vendors and clients for
assigned sport(s).
Job Duty Six -
Develop innovative ways to promote our athletic teams and branding,
while taking advantage of emerging technology.
Job Duty Seven -
Assists with the administration and execution of email marketing
efforts to include new sales, renewals, and other initiatives.
Job Duty Eight -
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Management,
Communications, Public Relations, or Sports Management, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
Two years job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of
education and experience within intercollegiate athletics
department or professional sports organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in related field.
Preferred Experience
Four years of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination
of education and experience within intercollegiate athletics
department or professional sports organization.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to set and meet
deadlines. Ability to build working relationships among diverse
groups.
- This position requires lifting, pushing, or pulling 25 lbs or
more of promotion material as needed.
- The ability to work in outdoor venues occasionally.
- Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed,
potentially including but not limited to evenings, weekends and
holidays.
KNOWLEDGE
RELATED SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- Administrative skills and the ability to motivate staff and
volunteers to achieve department goals.
- Event and game management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Possesses analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines
simultaneously
- Well-organized with sharp attention to detail
- Interest or knowledge of sports preferred
SKILLS
Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Proficiency with Adobe Suite,
including Photoshop and InDesign.
