About the Role:
The purpose of this position is to manage the sourcing,
procurement, and management of suppliers and subcontractors in
support of the delivery Project Management services.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare the vendor and/or subcontractor list and update as
needed
- Support, and in some cases lead, cost reduction efforts.
- Optimize the material and supplier portfolio - that is what
materials should be bought in bulk and consumed as needed from
inventory by projects, and which materials are best to acquire as
needed for specific projects.
- Prepare procurement execution plans and oversee the full array
of materials management and procurement functions of purchasing,
expediting, shipping, receipt and logistics.
- Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files and records,
price lists, the status of requisitions, contracts and orders.
- Create spreadsheets with product or service comparisons of
prospective suppliers and/or subcontractors to support management
decisions.
- Negotiation with the suppliers and/or subcontractors to reach
for the best prices.
- Manage the vendor prequalification and on-boarding
process.
- Interview prospective suppliers and/or subcontractors to
determine prices, discounts, terms, etc.
- Prepare, maintain and review purchasing records, produce
management reports, track the status of requisitions, contracts and
orders.
- Drafts, reviews and collaborate with management in the
negotiation of contracts and other business documents in support of
the procurement of goods and services.
- Work collaboratively with Project Management to coordinate
supplier and/or subcontractor selection, track supplier and/or
subcontractor performance standards, and conduct ongoing
evaluation.
- Establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving and
tracking of project materials to optimize quality, cost, timely
delivery criteria to support client strategies and
objectives.Supervisory Responsibilities
- Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with
the company's values.
- Mentors and coaches team members to further develop
competencies.
- Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.
- Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization
of labor, including overtime.
- Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion,
advancement, corrective action and termination.
- Provides formal supervision to individual employees within
single functional or operational area. What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant
experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and
education will be considered. C.P.M., C.P.S.M. or N.A.C.M.
certifications or eligibility preferred.
- Professional knowledge in Construction industry methods, and
applications, Construction Procurement and related governmental
laws and legislation is highly preferred
- Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training,
development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and
rewarding performance and retention preferred.
- Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and
difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle
problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality,
efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and
department.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples
include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive
mindset.
- Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures
such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related
calculations.
